"The world is not a lodging-house at Brighton, which we are to leave because it is miserable. It is the fortress of our family, with the flag flying on the turret, and the more miserable it is the less we should leave it."
-G. K. Chesterton, Orthodoxy
This here blog is a glimpse or two or three at the condition of the 'fortress of our family' through the eyes Timothy Goddard, a Christian writer with an unhealthy interest in politics living in the Puget Sound area.
Protests in Hong Kong This story is probably worth keeping an eye on. China poked a big hole in their already porous ideological defenses when Hong Kong came onto the scene, one that will not be plugged easily. If they try, things could get very ugly--and it could potentially spark the downfall of communism there. The economic policies emerging in the main of China already sound eerily like what was coming out of the USSR in 1988... like I said, it's a story to keep your eye on.
