"The world is not a lodging-house at Brighton, which we are to leave because it is miserable. It is the fortress of our family, with the flag flying on the turret, and the more miserable it is the less we should leave it."
-G. K. Chesterton, Orthodoxy
This here blog is a glimpse or two or three at the condition of the 'fortress of our family' through the eyes Timothy Goddard, a Christian writer with an unhealthy interest in politics living in the Puget Sound area.
Axis of Good? I've heard some mention India as a "member of the Axis of Good," and as an example of a democratic nation that will become one of America's closest allies. If they really want to be referred to as "good," however, they need to respect freedom of religion. Without that key freedom, it will never transform into the prosperous, free nation it has the potential to be. (That whole caste thing sort of gums up those works too.) Via Ted Olsen.
