"The world is not a lodging-house at Brighton, which we are to leave because it is miserable. It is the fortress of our family, with the flag flying on the turret, and the more miserable it is the less we should leave it."
-G. K. Chesterton, Orthodoxy
This here blog is a glimpse or two or three at the condition of the 'fortress of our family' through the eyes Timothy Goddard, a Christian writer with an unhealthy interest in politics living in the Puget Sound area.
Powell reveals a bit of evidence It wasn't a whole lot... if you're a blind monkey with a cheese addiction and a concussion. I'm listening to it right now, and the first two conversations are already damning evidence. Of course, I can't think of a single thing that would convince some people. Saddam Hussein could personally drop multiple nuclear warheads on every major city in the Western World, all while being taped live by Al-Jazeera, and the French, the Chinese and Hesiod would continue claiming that "the inspections must continue." Go, read the rest, watch the video. I cannot understand how any reasonable person can say that this evidence is not enough to go to war. Apparently, the fact that Iraq is obviously not complying means that the “inspection regime must be strengthened." What a load of bunk. Again, go read Condi Rice's op-ed on what disarmarment and inspections are supposed to be, and then try to say with a straight face that inspections are the answer. They have not worked so far, and there's no reason to think that they will magically start working sometime in the near--or distant-future. I hate to say it, I don't revel in it, I don't like it, but force is the only answer.
And once they read this, I think even Democrats, the French and other leftists will agree.
