"The world is not a lodging-house at Brighton, which we are to leave because it is miserable. It is the fortress of our family, with the flag flying on the turret, and the more miserable it is the less we should leave it."
-G. K. Chesterton, Orthodoxy
This here blog is a glimpse or two or three at the condition of the 'fortress of our family' through the eyes Timothy Goddard, a Christian writer with an unhealthy interest in politics living in the Puget Sound area.
A sad day By now I'm sure you've heard of the destruction of the Space Shuttle Columbia over Texas. I grieve with the world for the loss of these heroes. Brother's Judd has a grouping of stirring tributes, so I'll direct you to theirs rather than try to come up with something inadequate on my own. InstaPundit has a lengthy post on it, with some slightly unusual perspectives, and here's a collection of Blog reactions to the disaster.
