"The world is not a lodging-house at Brighton, which we are to leave because it is miserable. It is the fortress of our family, with the flag flying on the turret, and the more miserable it is the less we should leave it."
-G. K. Chesterton, Orthodoxy
This here blog is a glimpse or two or three at the condition of the 'fortress of our family' through the eyes Timothy Goddard, a Christian writer with an unhealthy interest in politics living in the Puget Sound area.
The tragedy in South Korea My thoughts and prayers are with the people of Daegu, South Korea after the horrific tragedy there.
But not only should this disaster sadden us, but it should scare to death everyone who rides a train or a subway. Let's all hope and pray that there are no copy-cat attacks.
UPDATE: On second thought, it should scare no one to death. It should make us more aware of the risks, it should make us more vigilant, but it should not scare us to death. Vigilance without fear is among the highest of virtues. Vigilance with fear is a chemical reaction.
