"The world is not a lodging-house at Brighton, which we are to leave because it is miserable. It is the fortress of our family, with the flag flying on the turret, and the more miserable it is the less we should leave it."
-G. K. Chesterton, Orthodoxy
This here blog is a glimpse or two or three at the condition of the 'fortress of our family' through the eyes Timothy Goddard, a Christian writer with an unhealthy interest in politics living in the Puget Sound area.
The end is near Bush, Blair, Aznar and Portuguese Prime Minister Barroso are meeting in the Azores today, not wanting to conduct their strategy and negotation session over the phone. This is a very good thing from Bush. The very first thing I heard about Bush, way back in early 2000, was that, however amiable and charismatic he may be in public appearances, it is nothing compared to him in person. This meeting can only solidify and embolden the coalition, and makes a quick war more likely, and Saddam's end more sure.
