"The world is not a lodging-house at Brighton, which we are to leave because it is miserable. It is the fortress of our family, with the flag flying on the turret, and the more miserable it is the less we should leave it."
-G. K. Chesterton, Orthodoxy
This here blog is a glimpse or two or three at the condition of the 'fortress of our family' through the eyes Timothy Goddard, a Christian writer with an unhealthy interest in politics living in the Puget Sound area.
Miss M.S.S.? For those of you going through Iraqi Information Minister withdrawl, and who have found it difficult to get through a day without hearing some blatantly ridiculous lie as an official government line, I may have found a replacement:
"The fact that [Saddam's] brother was found near the border is an evidence that Syria didn't let him in and didn't let any member of the family in and anybody of the regime in," Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Bouthayna Shaaban said. "The last country the regime would have come to is Syria."
If they tried to get across our infinitely well defended border, we would slaughter them all, and roast their stomachs in hell! There are no Iraqi Baathists in Syria! Never!
