"The world is not a lodging-house at Brighton, which we are to leave because it is miserable. It is the fortress of our family, with the flag flying on the turret, and the more miserable it is the less we should leave it."
-G. K. Chesterton, Orthodoxy
This here blog is a glimpse or two or three at the condition of the 'fortress of our family' through the eyes Timothy Goddard, a Christian writer with an unhealthy interest in politics living in the Puget Sound area.
When An Irresistable Force Meets An Immovable Object This could be interesting. On April 12, at noon, International ANSWER (a front group for the Workers World Party, a Stalinist organization) is holding an anti-war "march on the White House." Via the Command Post.
Meanwhile, on April 12, at noon, the College Republican National Committee, United Citizens Foundation and the Young America's Foundation are holding a "Rally for America" on the Capitol Mall.
A few questions--which will have more people? Will the two come into contact with each other? If they do, how many drunk College Republicans are going to beat hippies senseless? Hopefully none... but it would certainly be quite the collision.
That is, of course, if ANSWER doesn't cancel their remarkably ill-timed rally. Somehow, I don't think they will, though.
