"The world is not a lodging-house at Brighton, which we are to leave because it is miserable. It is the fortress of our family, with the flag flying on the turret, and the more miserable it is the less we should leave it."
-G. K. Chesterton, Orthodoxy
This here blog is a glimpse or two or three at the condition of the 'fortress of our family' through the eyes Timothy Goddard, a Christian writer with an unhealthy interest in politics living in the Puget Sound area.
Welcome back, Abe! I almost forgot! The Abraham Lincoln arrived in our mutual hometown today, to a crowd of about 10,000 people--that's a tenth of the whole city's population (not that everyone came from Everett proper, of course). Welcome home, all. You've done us very, very proud.
Courtesy of the Everett Herald here are a few photos. Go see the rest of them.
Thank you from me, too.
(On a more partisan note, I'm guessing that a lot of these people are not Murray voters...and if so, there's hope for the state yet!)
