"The world is not a lodging-house at Brighton, which we are to leave because it is miserable. It is the fortress of our family, with the flag flying on the turret, and the more miserable it is the less we should leave it."
-G. K. Chesterton, Orthodoxy
This here blog is a glimpse or two or three at the condition of the 'fortress of our family' through the eyes Timothy Goddard, a Christian writer with an unhealthy interest in politics living in the Puget Sound area.
Two years, one month and 29 days later... Go, immediately, to The Mesopotamian and read what Alaa has to say about those who support the Iraqi "resistance."
We declare before the whole world, your God is not our God, your religion is not our religion. You are the enemies of God, Humanity, Sanity & Decency. You are totally obsessed, unredeemable and hopeless. We have but to follow the decree of our Great Imam Ali ( PBU ) and you will be exterminated to the last man.
If Muslims would have said that very thing two years, one month and 29 days ago, I wonder how different the world would be today?
Unfortunately, it will likely take more attacks like the one in Riyadh to stir the bulk of the Muslim world to action. Fortunately, that stirring appears to be happening.
EDIT: I realized my last sentence could have been taken to mean something I did not intend, and so added the word "stirring."
