"The world is not a lodging-house at Brighton, which we are to leave because it is miserable. It is the fortress of our family, with the flag flying on the turret, and the more miserable it is the less we should leave it."
-G. K. Chesterton, Orthodoxy
This here blog is a glimpse or two or three at the condition of the 'fortress of our family' through the eyes Timothy Goddard, a Christian writer with an unhealthy interest in politics living in the Puget Sound area.
Yeah, good luck with that, Wes Proving that Democrats just don't understand America, nor do they have a good handle on what the future will bring, Wes Clark's spokesman has opined that the Bush team "made their bed with that 'Mission Accomplished' trip, and that's going to be around for a long time. [The recent ad in Iowa is] not the last ad you will see with that. I will guarantee you that whoever the nominee is will have that image up." (Via Best of the Web)
Yeah, remind everyone that Bush looks cool in a flight suit. That'll work. And attacking a banner saying "Mission Accomplished" (which was referring to the mission of the USS Abraham Lincoln, not of the United States) will look pretty silly once we actually transferred power over to the Iraqis in June.
