"The world is not a lodging-house at Brighton, which we are to leave because it is miserable. It is the fortress of our family, with the flag flying on the turret, and the more miserable it is the less we should leave it."
-G. K. Chesterton, Orthodoxy
This here blog is a glimpse or two or three at the condition of the 'fortress of our family' through the eyes Timothy Goddard, a Christian writer with an unhealthy interest in politics living in the Puget Sound area.
Genocide in Ethiopia Dave, a friend of mine who also works for me as a columnist, has alerted me to the massacre of the Anuak people in Ethiopia. One of his roommates is an Anuak refugee whose amazing story can be read here. Dave has written an article for the Clarion, and, on my advice, is setting up a blog to attempt to publicize the matter, and to get people to write their senators, urging them to push for an independent investigation of the killings, which Ethiopia is attempting to pass off as inter-tribal violence. Go to the blog and follow the links, then please do contact your senator.
