"The world is not a lodging-house at Brighton, which we are to leave because it is miserable. It is the fortress of our family, with the flag flying on the turret, and the more miserable it is the less we should leave it."
-G. K. Chesterton, Orthodoxy
This here blog is a glimpse or two or three at the condition of the 'fortress of our family' through the eyes Timothy Goddard, a Christian writer with an unhealthy interest in politics living in the Puget Sound area.
UKC on GMA Kerry was apparently unintentionally hilarious on Good Morning America today. I didn't see it, but the transcript is pretty amusing--as is the fact that ABC doesn't plan to give up on hammering Kerry over this, and are planning to release the tape of Kerry claiming that he threw away his medals. Unsurprisingly, the John Kerry blog makes no mention of his GMA appearance.
One of Bush's major problems going into this election was that the press really, really didn't want him to win. Fortunately, John Kerry is so dislikable that the press is going to be forced to be somewhat evenhanded. Even Charlie Gibson is going to think twice about voting for Kerry after this little exchange--let alone shy away from stories that show Kerry in a bad light.
