"The world is not a lodging-house at Brighton, which we are to leave because it is miserable. It is the fortress of our family, with the flag flying on the turret, and the more miserable it is the less we should leave it."
-G. K. Chesterton, Orthodoxy
This here blog is a glimpse or two or three at the condition of the 'fortress of our family' through the eyes Timothy Goddard, a Christian writer with an unhealthy interest in politics living in the Puget Sound area.
Filming life where it begins The St. Paul Pioneer Press (registration required, maybe) has an article the other day about the FDA being very annoyed with various private ultrasound clinics. These private clinics use amazing new technology to make 3D movies of unborn children. The FDA, claiming that ultrasounds are intrinsically medical technology and potentially harmful, cites "anecdotal studies in the United States and Europe." Interestingly enough, there's no such thing. Studies are different than anecdotes. But I digress.
Read the article. It's an interesting example of government interference, and probably a dash of pro-abortion bias infringing on both business owners' and families' rights.
