"The world is not a lodging-house at Brighton, which we are to leave because it is miserable. It is the fortress of our family, with the flag flying on the turret, and the more miserable it is the less we should leave it."
-G. K. Chesterton, Orthodoxy
This here blog is a glimpse or two or three at the condition of the 'fortress of our family' through the eyes Timothy Goddard, a Christian writer with an unhealthy interest in politics living in the Puget Sound area.
Bumpersticker Follies 3
Get out of the gene pool: This one wasn't terribly remarkable, except that it was accompanied by I'm pro-choice and I vote. At least she was consistent...
Think multilaterally: This was in small letters just below a UN flag. It's not clear what exactly this means... It's apparently making the assertion that the only valid venue for multilateralism is the UN, and organization that mixes Saddam-like thugs with democratically elected representatives without discerning between them... but that's another post altogether.
Lastly, this wasn't a bumpersticker, but on my way to work today, I saw a pair of guys holding a giant LaRouche 2004 sign with a cryptic anti-Cheney slogan on it out before southbound traffic on I-5 just before the Hood Canal bridge. Very, very odd.
